Your Go-to Guide On How To Get Prepped And Primed To ‘re-enter The World’ This Spring

As we enter into the first phases of freedom this spring, it is time to lift our spirits and feel confident in our skin again. Maybe you’ve let your top-to-toe beauty routine slip in the most recent (never-ending!) lockdown or the self-care Sundays have gone out of the window? Whether you’re meeting up with the girls for an alfresco bottomless brunch or you’re seeing your partner again IRL, make sure you’re ready to look and feel fabulous. The clock is ticking, so get ready for that spring glow-up…

Footloose and fancy free

As we move into a new season (finally!), we have the perfect opportunity to hop on the spring fashion trends and crawl out of that pyjama/loungewear hole we have been stuck in. Bralettes, open back dresses, waist floss tops, cut out styles, bold shoulder tops, wide-leg trousers and monochrome colours are just some of the emerging spring fashion trends that you will see on your socials and in the shops (yes, shopping is back!).

Whether you are heading to the beer gardens or a garden get-together, it is the perfect time to invest in some superb shoes to set the season off right. Because WFH life continues for many, the need for comfort takes priority for this season’s collections. Here are some styles to look out for: va-va-voom velcro sandals, dad sandals, fuzzy slides, baroque ballet flats, flatforms, cushiony flip-flops, slip-on clogs, and sporty sneakers.

Dare to self-care

It can be daunting facing up to the fact we now have to get out of the house and make ourselves look half presentable, but let’s make it something to look forward to. Have a think about those new nail shades you can check out or how you’ve finally got a good reason to sort out those roots. This will help to boost your mood and confidence.

Perhaps indulge in a new skincare routine, use a gentle face and body exfoliator, and if you have any unused face treatments like masks or serums lurking in your bathroom cabinet – now is the time to let your skin drink them up, we want to be looking flawless for when the sun is out!

With sandals and flip flops back in season, we want to make sure our feet look as flawless as the rest of our skin. Ditch dry dead skin and bring your feet out of hibernation with at-home pedicure treatment Footner Exfoliating Socks. Pop them on and relax for 60 minutes, and within just 7-10 days any hard, dead skin on your feet will have peeled away, revealing a layer of soft, smooth and rejuvenated skin beneath. This is the perfect product to use alongside a facemask on your self-care Sunday, and will leave you ready to strut your stuff with style and confidence as you head out this spring. Podiatrist Dina Gohil comments, “So many of us are suffering from “lockdown feet” – with dry, flaky skin from spending so much time in slippers at home. It’s important to treat these small issues before they turn into callused skin or cracked heels, which can be painful and make people feel self-conscious about revealing their feet. At-home treatments can be a life-saver to help kick start your foot care regime ahead of this Spring / Summer.”

Lighter days

We all feel better with a tan, right? Well, not long now till we can hopefully (depending on our unpredictable English weather) catch a tan the natural way; no more sleeping in tan-stained sheets or applying fake tan in a rush to end up with patches all over your body! However, until then, we can make do for this spring with gradual tanning lotion. They are a great option as they are often infused with nourishing and hydrating ingredients and can be applied each day and build up to a beautiful sunkissed bronze ready for spring. So, grab a bottle and glow!
