Now that the clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in, CCS Foot Care…
Inspiring Mum Goes On The Run
This summer, Trinity PR are supporting, inspiring mother and Chief Operating Officer of Totally Health, Emma-Jane Roberts who has signed up for not one, but three charity races! Despite suffering a debilitating knee injury ten years ago, which meant that she could not run for more than one kilometre without suffering from a collapsed knee, Emma-Jane has not let this health set back put her off challenging her body again in aid of a good cause. Following surgery and rehabilitative physiotherapy, Emma-Jane has got firmly back on the road to recovery and is now in training to complete three runs in only four weeks! Emma-Jane will also be running two of the races alongside her young two children and has the support of Totally Health’s team mascot Archie the dog! Totally Health is sponsoring Emma-Jane to raise funds for three extremely worthy health-related charities, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, The Footprints Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
Here’s a “run-through” of Emma-Jane’s charity event schedule:
14th May: Emma-Jane is running a 5km colour run for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton alongside her children Ewan and Jess: http://www.northamptonshiresport.org/events/2016/05/cynthia-spencer-5k-colour-run
22nd May: The most demanding run Emma-Jane will undertake is the 10km Great Manchester Run for The Footprints Foundation: the charity aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. 5th June: Emma-Jane will be running the 5km with her daughter for Race for Life Cancer Research.
Emma-Jane adds that “I’m delighted that Totally Health is helping to kick-start my fundraising to support these three really important health charities. For me, taking on these three runs is a real challenge following my knee surgery and it marks a milestone on the road to full recovery. To some people 10km is an afternoon jog, but with my knee it is a marathon challenge! I’m a firm believer, both personally and professionally, in the power of making positive lifestyle changes for long term health benefits – so I also hope my sporting summer will inspire others to take the first steps to a healthier future.”
