Destination Diabetes: – Celebrating The Arrival Of The London Diabetes Care Plan

Trinity PR was delighted to be at the launch of London Medical’s new London Diabetes Care Plan last night (Tuesday 14^th October). Over 50 guests were welcomed to an evening reception at the Marylebone clinic to learn about this innovative, accessible and affordable personalised programme of care for type 2 diabetes patients.

Opening talks were led by London Medical’s General Manager, David Briggs, welcoming all guests to the exclusive launch and outlining the details of the personalised service.  We were also honoured to be joined by guest speaker, Keith Vaz, MP for Leicester East who has shown continuous support for our work in diabetes care.  London Medical was also pleased to welcome Diabetes UK London Regional Manager, Roz Rosenblatt who rounded off the talks with a few words of support.

Guests were given the chance to talk one-on-one with the London Diabetes Team, led by Dr Eva Palik and supported by Dr Ralph Abraham, whilst being treated to some of the specially created canapés circulated throughout the night.  The unique diabetes-friendly menu was designed by leading chef, Holly Redman.

Many of the guests also took advantage of the free body composition analysis which they were invited to trial during the evening to assess their BMI, giving an insight into what patients can expect from the Diabetes Care Plan.

The launch of the Diabetes Care Plan comes in response to the world obesity crisis and the failures in the NHS in delivering high quality diabetes care. Available to everyone with Type 2 diabetes, the personal care plan service is designed to each individual patient’s needs, with the object of empowering the patient to be participant, proactive and positive in managing their care.

The night proved to be a huge success, confirming the London Diabetes Care Plan as THE destination for diabetes care.
