Charities’ Tax Relief Fears

As an agency with a strong heritage in the not-for–profit sector, we are watching with interest the ensuing debate following the Government announcement of plans to cap tax relief on charitable donations.  Currently, higher rate tax payers can donate unlimited amounts to charity and offset it against their tax bill – whist they do not benefit financially they are able to choose where their money is being spent unlike lower rate tax payers.

The Charities Aid Foundation said that more than 2,200 charities and supporters have joined a campaign to oppose these plans……….watch this space.
