Celebrating Healthcare Excellence At The Hsj Awards

The team at Trinity PR were delighted to manage the social media programme at the HSJ Awards, held last night (6th November) at Battersea Evolution in London. In its 39th year, the Awards are among the world’s most fiercely contested health service accolades, attracting hundreds of entries from the NHS and its partners. This year’s awards saw several categories introduced for the first time, including Mental Health Trust of the Year.

Acute or Specialist Trust of the Year was awarded to St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals Trust, a trust based in Merseyside, who received praise from the judges for achieving robust outcomes during sustained overtime and in challenging circumstances.

The judges said of St Helens and Knowsley, “This trust presented a superb all-round application, backed-up by robust outcomes for patients and the workforce.”

“It was felt that this trust was strongly placed in the local community with inspiring patient and staff stories”.

Other winners of the evening included:

• Humber Teaching Foundation Trust was awarded the Mental Health Provider of the Year award for retaining an understated ‘wow factor’ in their progress to change, patient safety and embedded positive culture.
• Clinical Leader of the Year was won by Professor Anoop Chauhan, Director of Research and Innovation at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust, for demonstrated inspirational leadership in developing research culture and for focusing on innovative opportunities in challenging circumstances.
